Shaped Objects
When an agent writes the implementation, what does the engineer design?
I call it the shape: the interfaces, contracts and behaviour you expect from a piece of software. You define that shape, give the agent room to build, and check whether the result fits.
The keynote compares the same model and task with and without a defined shape. In the supporting workshop, you’ll work through a legacy billing system and use agents to build a replacement against contracts and tests.

Does your terminal config work?
An AGENTS.md file can sound very convincing. That doesn’t tell you whether the agent follows it.
Bring a small task from your own repository, or use a prepared sample. We run it and inspect the tool calls. Did the agent request the tests? Did a tool fail? You write a small check for a behaviour that matters in your work.
Then you change one instruction and run the same task from the same starting code. Compare the evidence and decide whether to keep the change.
Something you can run again.
You leave with your check, the results from both runs and the config change you tested. One comparison gives you somewhere to start; repeat it on other tasks. Your repository’s tests and code review still check whether the software works.
The recent workshop used Copilot and Phoenix to record and inspect agent runs. We’ll talk through your team’s tools before planning a session.
